Original watercolour painted en plein air while observing our Swift colony. 57x38cm. Unframed/unmounted. Price includes UK delivery. Deckled edges all round make this particularly suitable for float mounting.
Pencil writing below picture reads
“17th July 9.10pm some late flypasts by our breeding swifts before they roost in their nest boxes. Knowing the airspace so well the breeders really put on a fast show on this lovely warm evening. As the last swifts roost I can hear the first tawny owl calls in the nearby woods. Blackbirds continue to sing, though not for much longer now. Soon the swifts will be gone. An evening to really savour, magical.”
